Kairology

About

An international and interdisciplinary project of the Czech Christian Academy (ČKA), supported by the Porticus and Renovabis foundations, focusing on the role of the church and faith in the transformation of contemporary society.

The world currently faces some of its most difficult challenges since the end of the Second World War: armed conflicts, social polarization, the rise of populism, and the misuse of technology to spread disinformation. The Kairology project was established as a response to these threats. Its goal is to develop the ability of both the church and society to „read the signs of the times“—to perceive, interpret, and constructively respond to the civilizational shifts of today.

We build upon the synodal process of church renewal initiated by Pope Francis. We believe that the church should not be a rigid structure, but a „field hospital“ that actively contributes to healing the wounds of the modern world through dialogue, interdisciplinary cooperation, and a prophetic voice in political and public theology.
